Joakim’s Reflections CW2505 - Simplicity

2025 is the year of simplicity for me and my family. Simplicity in the sense that we want to have a narrower focus on what makes us happy. An abundance of material possessions have absolutely proven itself to be the opposite of what we value. We want to spend more time building and nurturing meaningful relationships built on meaningful conversations.

Sometimes the road in front of you is illuminated, sometimes not.

Giving attention to fewer things increases the quality of the experience. Owning fewer things of high quality demands less attention to having it fulfill its purpose, making you free to focus on the experience.

The same approach also translates into organizational performance. Focus means providing the right guidelines to what is important, and why. Understanding why something is important is crucial to deriving the essence of quality for that product or service.

If your strategy is difficult to execute, it is not the right strategy.

If your strategy is not resulting in the outcomes you want, it is not the right strategy.

If your strategy does not enable your people to make the right decisions when faced with problems, it is not the right strategy.

You can simplify your strategic execution through strategic sensemaking.
